The Friendly Neighborhood Theme Camp Coordinator is: Kate Splaine (cptnrose).

Thank you Kate for all your planning and preparations for coordinating the Theme Camps this year.

I hope it OK to "prime the pump" for Theme Camp guidelines, announcement, and or plans.

The participating planners discussed tightening the nucleus of theme camps. Art installations going on top of the hill and the Theme Camps at the bottom of the hill were ideas shared.

I am hopeful for new ways to help guide Theme Campers in choosing the location of their Theme Camp? Maps and Signs?

Certainly!!! The program this year is going to include a map, with camping areas highlighted, theme-camp activities listed and theme camp locations numbered!! Giggle!

Anyway. There's been a lot of looking at moving camps around, and I'll be in touch with everyone who registers and we'll talk about exact placement, so that everything works the best! :-)

So:

Guidelines: REGISTER! If you want to be on the map and have the right amount of space roped off for you.. you have to get in touch with me! http://www.wickermanburn.org/_Theme/ques.htm

Otherwise everything is still up for other peoples' creativity to fill in!!

Rock it out Toni! I was going to contact you guys this week if I hadn't seen a submission!!!

Also joining us this year will be:

"Bodypainting Extraordinaire"

Crones and Sages: A camp of quiet wisdom where a pot of herb tea is always available, Crones and Sages is a respite zone for the 50+ crowd and those who appreciate them. Visitors welcome!

The Welcome Gnome: WELCOME GNOME will be greeters, 4QF FAQ'ers, and granters of Gnome Gnames - we could show up anywhere; say hi and let us know if we can help ya find something! WELCOME GNOME camp on top of the hill isn't hosting events, but stop by if we're home, and look for the Little Gnome Trail - a scenic route to fairies!

Rhovanion: We're a medieval style camp who find our spirituality through reenacting the medieval era and other time periods. It's our belief that we lived during these time periods and that's why we feel so comfortable within them. (With Chain mail classes and a feast!)

The Celtic Rose Project: Join Captain Rose and her Jaunty crew of pirates abord their ship for games, laughs, high tea and a little bit of grog!

Swoot Just got another one!! So exciting!!!! Keep them coming!!

Hoops, Henna and Aliens:

Hoops, Henna and Aliens is a mash-up of art installations and gifts. We are making a lazy lounge from recycled and reclaimed materials-everything from squishy butt pillows to hand batiked drapery. This will be the setting for the application of henna on tons of hippies. We are also making hoops and practice poi for giveaways.

Next door will be the Alien installation, an immersive experience for people to come together in a space. You squeeze through the wormhole into a jungle and navigate your way to the intergalactic communication zone.

No mention of Crones & Sages on this thread? We have added "Baked Potatoes 47 Ways", "Never-Ending Dutch Oven Blueberry Cobbler", and "Grass-Fed Angus Short Ribs and Tender Bits" to our Olde Wayes Cooking lessons. Please confirm that we are expected!

And yes, yes, I want henna, lots and lots of beautiful henna!

I came in a bit late, so I don't know if I actually have been approved as a theme camp, but I was planning on a storytelling/bardic circle camp, with announced times throughout the weekend...

Robert- Theme Camps do not get "approved". The only reason WM asks for Theme Camp submissions is so we can post them to the website and include them in the program so people can know what you're doing and when and where. So in laymans terms, you were approved when you had the idea:-)

Alas, this Crones and Sages camp instigator is NOT, repeat NOT, going to be able to get to Wicker Man this year. Just had another financial setback and after two years of unemployment there just isn't any slush left to absorb it. A possible new job is in the wind, so I might see folks at Stones Rising. Wicker Man is going to be a great party, and I do invite anybody else to step in for Crones & Sages!

Hmmmmm... now I have to wonder if 'storytelling' is an art, or just a theme camp. Since one of my party is in a wheelchair, setting up camping somewhere fairly flat and near a shower/bath facility without too many stairs is pretty much a necessity. I had hoped to set up the Fantastic Blather Theme Camp near the Coffee Dragons, if possible...that is, if the showers there have been made operable. If not, I'll find some way to get him to the outdoor showers at the bottom of the hill.

You mean AMAZING!

That's hilarious!
