A camp for elders and those who aspire to elderhood (no age limit). Decorations will almost certainly reflect our Hippie roots. Quiet space and hammocks available for those who feel a need to retreat and regroup for a while. Friendly helping hand always available when creaking knees don't want to climb out of the tent or lawn chair. Special altar to honor ancestors and acknowledge our own terrors about growing old. Send us your camping newbies; we will teach LNT with love. We will be holding a Most Decadent Hammock contest. Chintz pillows and small chocolates for the judges are encouraged. Stop by for a break! with love, and in service, ~em, handy dandy theme camp coordinator

Hey, Zone and Zonal, are you out there? I know you're "Out There", but are you here on the forum? I would be delighted to share a fire ring with you at Crones & Sages Theme Camp. I will be arriving on May 15, departing sometime after May 26. Dori (Greenlady, Grandmother Would-Be Talk-Walker) |

Awesome idea!! Sometimes us "elders' feel out of place in a crowd that's mostly a few decades younger (esp. at events like Gaian Mind). They didn't have as many cool festivals like this when I was a youngster. So now I want to claim my 'second childhood', hahahaha. |

Crones & Sages Camp has an Art Project! We will be crafting and decorating "topsy-turvy tomato" garden trellises of dancing crones and sages sculpted from hard-wire cattle panels for semi-permanent display in the 4QF garden. |

Aaarrrghgh: a good friend is starting chemo and might need me here to care for her and her livestock. Is anybody else willing to take on the Crones and Sages camp and garden art project if I can't make it? Dori Greenlady |

Dori- I have left you a message and you haven't gotten back to me about the art project. If you still want to work something out, please give me a call or e-mail me. Thanks! |

It's definite; I am needed here and will not be able to attend Wicker Man this year. Crones and Sages Theme Camp and Project will be postponed until then. Gods and goddesses willing, I will see friends at Stones Rising! In love and light, Dori (Greenlady) |

Gonna try again this year for Crones & Sages. Sent the formal application a month ago but have not heard anything back yet. Did we get lost? Gourmet campfire cooking, herbal tea, how to live well on old-people incomes, how to organize and engage people to get things done together, how to fight old-people diseases like depression and isolation, old songs (who knew that some day "Hey Jude" would be an "old" campfire singalong?), lots of fun stuff. I am bringing hammocks, beadworking supplies, campfire cooking equipment including several cast-iron dutch ovens, Pagan "holy water" from The River Styx at Howe Caverns and some also from Niagara Falls, seeds that have gathered energy from the Hopewell Mound in Lewiston and the ancient fortifications in East Aurora, an autoharp, drums, and a fiddle. And a young heart! Looking around for an art project. I'm thinking maybe a big banner with our stories/words of wisdom, made beautiful and then put on the fire! If you like that idea let me know, and if you have other ideas, do share! Grandmother Greenlady |

Hello Dori! I just received your Art Grant proposal- stay tuned. As far as the Theme Camp submissions go, we had a technical snafu. Your submission was received and just a minute ago (literally) forwarded to our Friendly Neighborhood Theme Camp coordinator- Kate. You'll probably hear from her soon and see your Theme Camp posted on the website. TTFN! |
