Will the Sound Town 2009 resemble 2008's? How much of the lower bottom creek side area will be allowed to house Sound Town? Are there going to be several Sound "Districts" in Sound Town? By this I mean are several separate Sound Town Theme camps going to make up Sound Town? I am hoping it is going to be like it was last year only MORE, and BIGGER, and even more Fabuously decorated! Theam Camp-ers, post us a pre-veiw description, would ya? Thank you for you time and attention. (Message edited by scorch on April 09, 2009) |

I am also curious about this. I am thinking of heading up and making this my first Wicker Man (though I have been to other events at 4QF) and was thinking about setting up a PA. What would be a sensible-sized sound system so that people could enjoy some beats without having to bring up a uselessly large setup? |

Steve and Scorch, We are currently coordinating with the group that will be heading up Sound Town. The plan this year is that there will be one central PA set up, with those who would like to DJ coordinating a schedule with this group. I have spoken with them a number of times and they are very excited about running Sound Town and are looking forward to working with anyone who wants to be involved. I expect that we will have everything nailed down with this group by the end of the weekend. I'll have them post to the forum so everyone can start coordinating a DJ schedule, decorations, fire artists etc. Sound Town was GREAT last year and I fully expect it to even better this year! Thanks Kate. I am disappointed about the "one central PA set up, with those who would like to DJ coordinating a schedule" It was nice having a couple or three choices to walk through and get some variety if and when you wanted it, without waiting for the next DJ. I sounds like folks who register there equipment will have to set it up and take it down for there time on the 'central PA set up.' It won't be like last year. ** (Message edited by Scorch on April 10, 2009) (Message edited by Scorch on April 10, 2009) |

I haven't seen any guidelines on what kind of music gets played, are there any?. Just curious now what I will be hearing. Tecno, Industrial, House, Drum and Base. . . ? This is another good reason for the Sound Town participants to chime in once things get going. * |

The single PA thing is not hard and fast, should there be a desire for multiple PAs I am sure we can work it out. As for the mix, anything goes. As long as it is below the DB limit! opw |

Great news. I would then ask everyone who would like multiple Sound Themes to make up Sound Town (multiple PAs) to please speak up and make this know to the organizers. I believe this Forum is a good place for that. If you don't want this then these are not the droids we are looking for. Move on. all contrasting opinions are told separately. Flatteries not included. No searches neccessary. Void were prohibited by flaw.

Its really a non issue, all that is required is to register a sound system. We have one sound system in the works. Second system anyone? opw |

Scorch, you asked what Sound Town will look like. A good friend of mine, Hannah, is interested in submitting an Arts Grant Proposal for decorations in Sound Town as well as the Entrance/Registration. Last I heard from her she was talking about making huge anoles, frogs and ghosts and draping them throughout the trees. I think that people should bring pretties to decorate the dance floor. Nothing beats a beautiful space like Gaian Mind's Chill-Out Zone. I say bring on the neon, UV, stars and bells and whistles! |

It was nice seeing you guys Saturday. I am talking/planning with my decorating partner, she has helped we with all my previous "Giant Dream Catcher" Deco. She is very crafty that way. We are getting a plan together and I am looking over the Ap. B Back Soon. |

Dead Man's Party Preview! These are just little bits that give only a clue as to the results, I have much more in store than these mere inspirations.
